Established in 1972, The Accord Group of Companies and Educational Institutions has grown exponentially and is now valued at INR 47,000 Crores (USD 7 Billion). The Group’s incredible rise is due to the vision and relentless effort of its Chairman, Dr S Jagathrakshakan, an educationalist par excellence, an astute industrialist and a devoted philanthropist. Originally rooted in leather and stainless steel, the Accord Group has since expanded into diverse sectors, including education, healthcare, hospitality, realty, IT, pharmaceuticals, liquor, breweries, cement, jewellery, tyres, and energy. The Group’s total turnover for the last year stood at a staggering USD 750 million.

About Kaldan Samudhra Palace

Spread across a 10-acre sparkling estate, our palace stands as a beacon of elegance, grandeur, and timeless beauty. It is revered as the ‘Immortal Palace’ for its seamless blend of three timeless cultures that make up the 'Golden Triangle'—the essence of nobility with a stunning replica of the Taj Mahal, the regal charm of Rajasthani architecture in the palace, and the tranquil allure of the nearby sea, reminiscent of Goa’s golden shores.

Founded by Dr S Jagathrakshakan, our palace was born from the fusion of Rajasthani architecture and palatial arts. Construction began in 2017 and was brought to life on December 9, 2021, through the skilled hands of artisans, sculptors, and builders from across India. We are committed to delivering an experience that lingers long after you depart. This unwavering dedication earned us the prestigious title of 'Best Property for Outdoor Weddings' at the 10th Exotic Wedding Planning Conference (EWPC) Apex Awards 2022 in Bangalore—an accolade achieved within just a year of our grand opening. Dr. S. Jagathrakshakan - Chairman

Born in Vazhudhavur, Tamil Nadu, he hails from the Vanniyar community and rose from humble beginnings to become a respected leader in politics, business, literature, and philanthropy. As Chairman of the Accord Group, his strategic foresight and business acumen have driven the Group’s growth. A passionate philanthropist, he supports free healthcare for over 6,000 patients daily, conducts 5,000 marriages annually, and cares for 5,000 adopted children. His village adoption program spans 150 villages, and he has renovated 5,500 temples. Politically, he served as MP across three Lok Sabhas and held key ministerial roles in Information & Broadcasting, Renewable Energy, and Commerce & Industry. A scholar and author of 60 books, he founded the Azhvargal Research Centre and Alwargal Aiyvu Mayam to promote Vaishnavism. His life reflects resilience, service, and dedication to cultural preservation.

Dr. J. Srinisha - Director

She holds a Master’s in Dental Surgery and plays a vital role in advancing the Accord Group’s medical and dental initiatives. As Director of the Accord Group, she was instrumental in establishing state-of-the-art, multi-disciplinary super-speciality hospitals in Chennai, including the region’s leading liver transplant centre. With a strong vision to expand accessible, high-quality healthcare across South India, she continues to lead the Group’s efforts in building a network of advanced super-speciality hospitals. Dr. Srinisha is also a respected member of the Dental Council of India, where she contributes to the accreditation and validation of dental education institutions. In addition to her role in healthcare, she serves as Trustee of the Sri Lakshmi Ammal Educational Trust, reinforcing the Group’s commitment to education and social impact.

Dr. J. Sundeep Anand - Managing Director

He is a multifaceted professional with a postgraduate degree in Computer Science from Minnesota, USA, a Doctorate in Computer Science from the College of Engineering, Chennai, and additional qualifications in Management and Law. As the Managing Director of the Accord Group, he has played a pivotal role in the Group’s transformation into a multi-dimensional business conglomerate. He is also the Managing Trustee of the Sri Lakshmi Ammal Educational Trust and was instrumental in the growth and evolution of Bharath University and the Group’s educational initiatives. Dr. Anand oversees the Group’s daily operations, driving its consistent expansion and long-term success.

Education

Under the Sri Lakshmi Ammal Educational Trust, the Accord Group’s education arm—Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research (BIHER)—has grown into a premier multi-stream university with over 10,000 students and six expansive campuses across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Its institutions include top-ranking medical, dental, engineering, nursing, physiotherapy, and law colleges like Sree Balaji Medical College & Hospital, JR Medical College, and SLIMS. Recognised as the ‘Best Multi-Stream Private University in India’ by ASSOCHAM, BIHER is known for quality education, research, and a commitment to societal upliftment.

Hospitality

The Accord Hotels & Resorts and Kaldan Samudhra Palace bring together luxury, authentic South Indian hospitality, and world-class service across key destinations like Chennai, Ooty, Mahabalipuram, and Pondicherry. With a focus on personalised guest experiences and initiatives like the JUJU Guest Experience Ambassador program, the Group ensures every stay is memorable, warm, and indulgent.

Health Care:

The Accord Group’s healthcare venture, Rela Hospital in Chennai, operated by JR Super Speciality Hospitals Pvt. Ltd., is a leading quaternary care centre founded in 2017 under the guidance of Dr. S. Jagathrakshakan and Prof. Mohamed Rela. Home to one of the world’s largest liver ICUs, the 450-bed facility is renowned for cutting-edge technology, global clinical expertise, and compassionate patient care.

Pharmaceutical Industry:

Through NJK Pharma and Teyro Labs, the Accord Group is making a strong mark in pharmaceuticals, focusing on affordable, high-quality medicines and innovation. NJK Pharma is building a cGMP-compliant facility for WHO-standard formulations, while Teyro Labs specialises in oncology and complex drug manufacturing with USFDA and EUGMP-approved facilities, offering global R&D, CRO, and CMO services.

Brewery:

Accord Distillers and Brewers operates a state-of-the-art 300 HL Automatic Brewery Unit with Meura and Ziemann technology, producing up to 1 million hectolitres annually, expandable to 1.5 million. With exclusive Carlsberg tie-ups, IMFL manufacturing, and a growing export footprint, the ₹500-crore unit is a major player in Tamil Nadu and beyond.

Minerals – Panyam Cement:

Established in 1955, Panyam Cement became a household name for strength and quality, fueling major Indian infrastructure projects. After a revival led by Dr. Srinisha Jagathrakshakan and partners, Panyam is back in action, serving South India with renewed vigour.

Mining of Rare Earth:

With deep expertise in beach mineral extraction, the Group specialises in ilmenite, rutile, and zircon, crucial for both everyday products and high-tech industries. Backed by international ties, they are gearing up to produce five to ten rare earth chemicals.

Power Generation:

The Group powers forward with 300 MW of coal-based energy near Chennai, a 660x2 MW plant near Tuticorin, and a 1320 MW gas plant in Andhra Pradesh. Adding to the green grid, they’re setting up a 100 MW solar plant in Tamil Nadu.

Information Technology:

The Group’s IT division operates two specialised companies. One delivers web-enabled ERP solutions, web hosting, and legacy system management for European clients. The other focuses on mobility solutions, big data analytics, and next-generation technologies. Together, they build scalable platforms, enhance digital ecosystems, and provide customised software development services to help businesses stay future-ready.

Engineering – CECL and Chiprime:

From iconic landmarks to cutting-edge tech, CECL and Chiprime drive the Group’s engineering excellence. CECL, with its rich legacy since 1947, shapes India's skyline, while Chiprime leads in semiconductor innovation, gearing up for India's own fab facility.

Sports – Jagath Cricket Academy (JCA):

Jagath Cricket Academy (JCA) in Pondicherry, a BCCI-approved facility, is dedicated to nurturing young cricket talent. With expert coaching in batting, bowling, and fielding, JCA prepares players for competitive cricket. The academy offers top-notch training grounds and fitness routines, helping players achieve peak performance.
